Video games have been around for quite some time now with what is considered to be the first video game being made all the way back in 1958. Thats 63 years ago, which is wierd to think about since when you think of video games it seems like a more recent source of entertainment. The gaming industry has come along way since then with advancements in thecnology bring users better graphics, more complex systems, and the ability to even have a virtual reality experience where you are in the game itself.

When looking up statistics for this part of my web pag I knew that the gaming industry would be bringing in alot of money but I was definitly suprised by some of the number I found. To put that number into a more persevable view, if you were to live for 90 billion minutes, you would live to be 171,233 years old (thats a long time). With the pandemic this past year video games have shown just how popular they are, and are becoming. Another example to put into perspective just how popular video games are becoming as well as how much money they bring in, "According to gaming industry stats, the Asia-Pacific gaming revenue is estimated to amount to over $174 billion by 2021".
